Charger compatibility
First things, first: safety.
It is mega important that you use the right charger to power up your Jetson. Using the wrong charger on a product can be damaging to the charger, the product, or the electrical system that you’re tapping into to power up.
Though many Jetson chargers look similar on the outside, they are not all the same on the inside: The electrical specs – voltage, amperage, and hertz – are different from one charger to the next. Even if a charger fits into the charging ports of many different products – and even if it increases battery charge on all of them – that does not mean that the charger is a good match for all of those products.
For that reason, we need to look at certain identifying marks to establish true compatibility. Read on for more.
Identifying your product
In order to know what charger to use, first you need to know exactly what product you have. Use BOTH of these pieces of info to identify your Jetson:
- Its model name – We make several different models within each product category. Of our e-bikes, for example, there's a Bolt, Bolt Pro, and Bolt Up, as well as a J5 and J8 – it’s easy to get confused. If you can’t recall your product’s name, you can find it by browsing RideJetson.com – or looking on the box it came in, its user manual, or a label that’s adhered to the product itself.

Your product’s SKU – Short for “Stock Keeping Unit,” a SKU is a more precise form of identification in that it can help us identify the color, variation, or version of the Jetson model that you have.
Jetson SKUs usually begin with J and have 1 or 2 hyphens in them. (The SKU for a blue Pixel Hoverboard, for example, is JPIXHB-BLU.) You can find your product’s SKU in the same places you can find its name. More info on how to identify and find a SKU can be found in this helpful article.
Ordering the right spare or replacement charger
Once that you’ve identified your product by name and SKU, use the chart below to find a compatible charger.
Chargers, just like products, are given their own SKU; charger SKUs begin with “PJ”. Click the charger SKU in the chart to get to the product page on RideJetson.com where you can order that charger. If there’s no link, you can type the charger SKU into the search field on RideJetson.com to find the page on your own.
Important notes:
- Some Jetson products are compatible with more than one charger. Any of the chargers listed are considered the right match.
- Not all charger SKUs are available for purchase at all times.
- As a “double-check,” make sure your product model is listed among the compatible products on that charger purchase page before completing your order.
Identifying a charger you already have
To identify a charger that you already have, use the same chart – just work backwards. Look on the label adhered to the charger to find one of these pieces of information:
- The charger SKU - This is what begins with “PJ”.
- The charger’s model number - This is a number assigned to the charger during the manufacturing process at the factory.
