Welcome, and congratulations on your new Peri 2-Wheel Light-Up Kick Scooter. Its foldable design makes it easy to store and transport, while the wide, wing-like deck and 11 dynamic lighting patterns bring extra style to every ride. This guide walks you through unfolding, assembling, adjusting, and riding your scooter.
Things you need to know
Preparation
- Read the complete user manual and all safety warnings before using the scooter.
- Adult assembly, initial adjustments, and adult supervision are required.
- Remove all protective packaging, including the protective cap at the top of the stem, before beginning assembly.
- Have three new AA batteries ready for the scooter lights. Batteries are not included.
- Confirm the rider is at least 5 years old and does not exceed the 132 lb weight limit.
- Have an ASTM F1492-approved helmet, knee pads, elbow pads, and closed-toe, flat shoes ready.
- Choose a smooth, flat riding surface away from roadways, motor vehicles, steep inclines, steps, water, sand, gravel, dirt, leaves, and other debris.

Step-by-step setup

Unfold the scooter. Pull the folding lever upward
along the down tube. Raise the stem into the upright position until
it clicks securely into place, and then release the folding lever.
Check that the stem is secure before continuing.
Warning:
Never ride unless the stem has clicked fully into the upright position. An unsecured stem could collapse and cause a fall or injury.

Check the folding-mechanism tension.
Pull the folding lever and confirm that you feel some resistance.
If the lever feels wobbly or moves without resistance, use the included
4 mm Allen key to turn the folding-mechanism adjustment bolt clockwise.
If the scooter cannot fold or unfold, turn the bolt counterclockwise.
Fold and unfold the scooter to test the adjustment, repeating in
small increments until the mechanism operates correctly.
Important:
The folding mechanism may require additional adjustment during the life of the scooter. Check it regularly and adjust it whenever the lever becomes loose or difficult to operate.
Caution:Never ride with an improperly tightened folding mechanism. An unstable stem or handlebar could cause injury.

Attach the handlebar.
Use the Phillips-head screwdriver end of the included 2-bit tool
to remove the preinstalled bolt from the nut in the stem. Position
the handlebar base over the stem so the raised line inside the handlebar
base aligns with the indented channel at the top of the stem. Slide
the handlebar onto the stem and align the hardware holes.
From the rider’s position, insert the bolt through the aligned holes from the right side. Hold the nut against the end of the bolt on the left side, and tighten the bolt clockwise into the nut with the Phillips-head screwdriver. Confirm that the handlebar is secure.Warning:Check that the handlebar bolt and nut are tight and secure before every ride.

Adjust the handlebar height.
Open the stem-clamp latch. Use the 5 mm Allen key end of the included
2-bit tool to loosen the clamp bolt by turning it counterclockwise.
Press in the stem pin and raise or lower the handlebar until the
pin clicks fully into the desired stem-pin hole. Close the latch,
tighten the clamp bolt clockwise, and confirm that the handlebar
is secure.
Important:
The stem pin alone will not keep the handlebar secure. The stem clamp must be tightened and closed before every ride.
Helpful tip:Do not overtighten the stem-clamp bolt. Overtightening can prevent the latch from opening and closing properly.

Install the batteries.
Turn the scooter over to access the battery compartment on the underside
of the deck. Use the Phillips-head screwdriver to loosen and remove
the battery-compartment cover screw by turning it counterclockwise.
Lift off the cover and install three AA batteries according to the
positive and negative markings inside the compartment. Reposition
the cover, reinsert the screw, and tighten it clockwise. Confirm
that the cover and screw are secure.
Warning:
Do not mix old and new batteries or mix alkaline, standard carbon-zinc, and rechargeable batteries.

Complete a pre-ride safety check.
Confirm that the handlebar, stem clamp, folding mechanism, wheels,
guards, covers, and all other components are securely attached and
in serviceable condition. Check that the rear foot brake works properly
and inspect the scooter for worn, loose, damaged, or missing parts.
Safety:
Do not ride if any part is loose, worn, broken, or missing. Replace worn or broken parts immediately, and contact the Jetson Care Team if assistance is needed.

Start moving.
Put on your helmet and protective gear. Place one foot on the front
of the deck facing forward. Use your other foot to push against the
ground and propel the scooter. Repeat as needed to reach or maintain
a comfortable speed. When coasting, place the kicking foot behind
the front foot at a slight angle.
Warning:
Allow only one rider at a time. Do not perform stunts, race, ride at night, or use the scooter on roadways, uneven terrain, slopes, or wet surfaces.

Steer the scooter.
While moving forward, gently rotate the handlebar toward the left
or right. The scooter will turn in the direction of the handlebar.
Safety:
Make wide, gentle turns and avoid rotating the handlebar too far or turning abruptly. Maintain your balance and remain alert to obstacles and changes in terrain.

Slow down and stop.
Press down gently on the rear foot brake with your rear riding foot
to reduce your speed. Apply more pressure to come to a complete stop.
Warning:
Do not apply the brake too hard or too suddenly. Sudden or excessive braking can lock the wheel, cause a loss of control, and result in a fall. The brake may become hot during use, so do not touch it with bare skin.
Using the LED lights
Quick-press the lighting button on the underside of the deck to turn on the deck and stem lights. Continue quick-pressing the button to cycle through the 11 lighting patterns. Stop pressing when the desired pattern appears.
The 12th quick press turns the deck and stem lights off. To turn them off without cycling through every pattern, press and hold the lighting button for 3 seconds.
The deck and stem lights automatically turn off after 5 minutes without use. Quick-press the lighting button to reactivate them.
The wheel lights are motion-activated and illuminate whenever the wheels rotate, even when the deck and stem lights are turned off.
Turn off the deck and stem lights when the ride is finished to preserve battery life.
Folding the scooter for storage
Pull the folding lever upward along the down tube. Lower the stem toward the deck until it clicks into the folded position, and then release the lever. Store the scooter indoors in a dry place and cover it to protect it from dust.
Remove the batteries before storing the scooter for an extended period. Keep the scooter away from water, moisture, fire, excessive heat, intense impacts, and severe vibration.
Quick troubleshooting
If the scooter will not fold or unfold: The folding mechanism may be too tight. Locate the adjustment bolt on the front of the down tube, opposite the folding lever, and turn it counterclockwise in small increments with the included 4 mm Allen key. Test the folding mechanism after each adjustment.
If the folding lever feels loose or wobbly: The folding mechanism may be too loose. Turn the adjustment bolt clockwise in small increments with the 4 mm Allen key until the lever has some resistance and the mechanism is secure.
If the stem-clamp latch will not open or close: The stem-clamp bolt may be too tight. Use the included 5 mm Allen key to loosen the bolt one-half rotation at a time until the latch opens and closes properly.
If the handlebar feels loose: Confirm that the stem pin has clicked fully into a stem-pin hole. Close the stem-clamp latch and tighten the clamp bolt clockwise with the 5 mm Allen key until the handlebar is secure. Do not overtighten the bolt.
If the deck and stem lights do not turn on: Check that three AA batteries are installed according to the positive and negative markings. Replace them with three new matching batteries if needed, and confirm that the battery-compartment cover and screw are secure.
If the lights turn off while the scooter is not being used: The deck and stem lights automatically turn off after 5 minutes without use. Quick-press the lighting button to reactivate them.
If the wheel lights do not illuminate: The wheel lights are motion-activated and illuminate only when the wheels rotate. Roll the scooter forward to activate them.
