Welcome, and congratulations on your new Orbit Trio 3-Wheel Light-Up Kick Scooter. Its three-wheel, lean-to-steer design helps new riders develop balance and confidence, while the light-up deck and motion-activated wheels add colorful fun to every ride. This guide walks you through assembling, adjusting, and riding your scooter.
Things you need to know
Preparation
- Read the complete user manual and all safety warnings before using the scooter.
- Adult assembly and adult supervision are required.
- Remove all protective packaging before beginning setup.
- Have three new AA batteries ready for the deck and stem lights. Batteries are not included.
- Confirm the rider is at least 3 years old and does not exceed the 110 lb weight limit.
- Have an ASTM F1492-approved helmet, knee pads, elbow pads, and closed-toe, flat shoes ready.
- Choose a smooth, flat riding surface away from roadways, motor vehicles, steep inclines, steps, water, and debris.

Step-by-step setup
- Attach the stem. Position the stem over the scooter base with the handlebar at the top and the stem release button facing the back of the scooter. Slide the stem into the stem mount until the release button clicks into the release-button hole. Check that the stem is securely attached to the scooter base. Warning:
Keep small parts away from children during assembly. The scooter must be assembled by an adult.

Adjust the handlebar height.
Use the 5 mm Allen key end of the included tool to loosen the stem-clamp knob by turning it counterclockwise. Pull open the stem-clamp latch. Press in the stem pin and raise or lower the handlebar until the pin clicks into the desired stem-pin hole. Close the latch, tighten the knob clockwise with the Allen key, and confirm that the handlebar is secure.
Important:
The stem pin alone will not keep the stem secure. The stem clamp must be tightened and closed before every ride.
Helpful tip:Do not overtighten the stem-clamp knob. Overtightening can prevent the latch from opening or closing.

Install the batteries.
Turn the scooter over to access the battery compartment on the underside of the deck. Use the Phillips-head screwdriver end of the included tool to loosen the compartment-cover screw by turning it counterclockwise. Lift off the cover and install three AA batteries according to the positive and negative markings inside the compartment. Reposition the cover with the screw aligned to its hole, tighten the screw clockwise, and confirm that the cover is secure.
Warning:
Do not mix old and new batteries or mix alkaline, standard carbon-zinc, and rechargeable batteries.

Complete a pre-ride safety check.
Confirm that the stem, handlebar, stem clamp, wheels, guards, and other components are securely attached and in serviceable condition. Check that the rear foot brake works properly and inspect the scooter for worn, loose, damaged, or missing parts before every ride.
Safety:
Do not ride if any part is loose, worn, broken, or missing. Replace worn or broken parts immediately, and contact the Jetson Care Team if assistance is needed.

Start moving.
Put on your helmet and protective gear. Place one foot on the front of the deck facing forward. Push your other foot against the ground to propel the scooter, repeating as needed to reach or maintain a comfortable speed. Place the kicking foot on the rear of the deck at a slight outward angle for stability when coasting.
Warning:
Allow only one rider at a time. Do not perform stunts, race, ride at night, or use the scooter on roadways, uneven terrain, slopes, or wet surfaces.

Lean to steer.
While moving forward, gently shift pressure on the handlebar toward the left or right. The scooter will gently veer in the direction of the shift.
Important:
The handlebar does not rotate and the wheels do not turn like those on a conventional scooter. Turn by gently shifting pressure while the scooter is moving.

Slow down and stop.
Press down gently on the rear foot brake with your rear riding foot to reduce your speed. Apply more pressure to come to a complete stop.
Warning:
Do not apply the brake too hard or too suddenly. Sudden or excessive braking can cause a loss of control and a fall. The brake may become hot during use, so do not touch it with bare skin.
Using the LED lights
Quick-press the lighting button on the underside of the deck to turn on the deck and stem lights. Continue quick-pressing the button to cycle through the 11 lighting patterns. The 12th quick press turns the lights off.
To turn off the lights without cycling through every pattern, press and hold the lighting button for 3 seconds. The lights will also turn off automatically after 5 minutes without use. Quick-press the button to reactivate them.
The wheel lights are motion-activated and illuminate whenever the wheels are moving, even when the deck and stem lights are turned off.
Turn off the deck and stem lights when the ride is finished to preserve battery life.
Quick troubleshooting
If the stem-clamp latch will not open or close: The clamp knob may be too tight. Loosen the knob one-half rotation at a time until the latch can open and close properly.
If the deck and stem lights do not turn on: Check that three AA batteries are installed in the battery compartment according to the positive and negative markings. Replace the batteries with three new matching batteries if needed, and confirm that the compartment cover is securely closed.
If the lights turn off while the scooter is not moving: The lights automatically turn off after 5 minutes without use. Quick-press the lighting button to reactivate them.
If the scooter does not turn when the handlebar is rotated: The Orbit Trio uses lean-to-steer operation, so its handlebar does not rotate and its wheels do not turn. While moving, gently shift pressure on the handlebar toward the direction you want to travel.
