Welcome, and congratulations on your new OTG Elite Electric Bike. With three electric speed modes, pedal assistance, a twist throttle, and an LED screen, your OTG Elite brings extra convenience to everyday riding. This guide walks you through assembling, charging, checking, and riding your new e-bike.
Things you need to know
Preparation
- Read the complete user manual and all safety warnings before assembling or riding the e-bike.
- Remove all protective packaging before beginning assembly.
- Prop the e-bike upright on its kickstand while completing the assembly steps.
- Throughout setup, "right," "left," "front," and "rear" are described as the rider would see them while seated.
- Fully charge the battery before the first ride.
- Confirm the rider is at least 14 years old and that the combined rider and cargo weight does not exceed 220 lb.
- Check the rider's fit. With both feet flat on the ground while straddling the frame, there should be 1–3 inches of clearance between the rider and the top tube.
- Have a properly fitted helmet, knee pads, elbow pads, and closed-toe shoes ready.
What comes in the box
- OTG Elite Electric Bike
- Seat
- Left and right pedals
- Charger and charging cable
- Bungee strap
- Assembly and maintenance multi-tool
Additional tool required
- Manual air pump with a pressure gauge
Step-by-step setup
-
Unfold and secure the handlebar.
Gently raise the handlebar until the stem rests vertically on
its base. Push the folding latch inward until it clicks into
its closed position against the stem. Confirm that the latch
cannot be pulled open.
Warning:
Never ride unless the handlebar is upright and the stem folding latch is securely closed.
-
Install and adjust the seat.
Open the seat-clamp latch. Position the seat above the seat tube
with its widest section facing the rear of the bike. Lower the
seat post into the tube until the minimum-insertion mark is below
the clamp. Adjust the height and close the latch. Tighten the
clamp knob clockwise if necessary. Apply downward pressure to
confirm that the seat does not slip.
Important:
The minimum-insertion mark must never be visible above the seat clamp. Confirm that the seat is secure before riding.
-
Attach the pedals.
Locate the pedal marked R and align its spindle with the right
crank arm. Begin threading it clockwise by hand, keeping the
spindle straight. Finish tightening it using the included
15 mm wrench. Repeat on the left side with the pedal marked L,
threading it counterclockwise.
Important:
The left pedal has reverse threading and must be tightened counterclockwise. Do not force a pedal into the crank arm if it does not thread smoothly.
- Position the bell and front reflector. Use the Phillips-head screwdriver tip on the included multi-tool to loosen the bell-clamp screw slightly. Rotate the bell until its tab is comfortably accessible with your left thumb, then tighten the screw. Rotate the front reflector until it faces forward. Slide its clamp toward the thicker, central portion of the handlebar and tighten the screw if necessary.
-
Inflate the tires.
Remove the dust cap from one tire valve by turning it
counterclockwise. Use a manual air pump with a pressure gauge
to inflate the tire to 40 PSI. Remove the pump and reinstall
the dust cap clockwise. Repeat for the other tire.
Important:
Use only a manual air pump. Never use an air compressor, which can cause the tire tubes to pop. Check tire pressure before every ride.
-
Charge the battery.
Connect the charging cable to the charger and open the bike's
charging-port cover. Plug the charging cable into a wall outlet,
then connect the charger to the bike's charging port. The
indicator illuminates red while charging and changes to green
when charging is complete. A full charge takes approximately
5 hours.
When charging is complete, disconnect the charger from the
bike, unplug it from the wall outlet, and close the
charging-port cover.
Warning:
Use only the included charger or one obtained directly through Jetson and identified as compatible with the OTG Elite. Compatible charger identifiers listed in the manual include JY-420200 and PJOTGE-CH. Using an incompatible charger can cause fire or explosion.
Important:Charge only between 32°F and 104°F. Never power on the bike while charging, leave it charging overnight, use damaged charging equipment, or attempt to disassemble the battery.
-
Complete a pre-ride safety check.
Confirm that both handbrakes engage properly and that the
brake pads are aligned and not excessively worn. Inspect
the frame, fork, wheels, tires, cranks, pedals, and drive
system for damage or loose components.
Check that the handlebar and stem are secure, both tires
are inflated to 40 PSI, and all guards and reflectors
are properly positioned.
Safety:
Do not ride if the brakes, steering, wheels, or other essential components are damaged, loose, or operating incorrectly.
-
Power on and prepare to ride.
Put on your helmet and protective gear. Raise the kickstand,
sit securely on the seat, and position your feet on the pedals.
Press and hold the power button for 2–3 seconds to turn on
the e-bike. The LED screen will illuminate.
Helpful tip:
The e-bike automatically powers off after 10 minutes without movement.
-
Select a speed mode.
Use the minus (-) and plus (+) buttons on the handlebar
controls to select one of three speed modes:
- Mode 1: Up to 9.4 mph
- Mode 2: Up to 15.5 mph
- Mode 3: Up to 20 mph
Helpful tip:New riders should begin in Mode 1 on an open, familiar surface and move to faster modes only after becoming comfortable controlling the bike.
-
Start moving and steer.
The OTG Elite can be ridden using pedal assistance,
throttle power, or traditional pedaling.
- Pedal assistance: With the bike powered on, begin pedaling. The motor supplements your pedaling effort.
- Throttle power: Slowly rotate the right-hand twist throttle toward you to accelerate.
- Traditional pedaling: Pedal the bike without turning on the motor.
Important:Apply the throttle gradually to avoid sudden acceleration. Keep both feet securely on the pedals while riding.
-
Slow down and stop.
Release the throttle gradually and squeeze one or both
handbrakes to slow down. Apply additional braking pressure
to bring the bike to a complete stop.
The left handbrake controls the front wheel, while the
right handbrake controls the rear wheel. The brake light
illuminates when either handbrake is engaged.
Warning:
Apply the brakes gradually. Sudden or excessive braking can lock a wheel, cause a loss of control, and result in a fall.
Understanding the LED screen and odometer
The OTG Elite's LED screen displays important riding information while the bike is powered on.
- Odometer: Displays the total distance traveled by the e-bike.
- Speed mode: Shows the selected electric speed setting.
- Battery indicator: Shows the approximate remaining battery charge.
- Headlight indicator: Appears when the headlight is on.
- Turn signal indicator: Shows when a turn signal is in use.
- Warning icon: Indicates a condition requiring attention when accompanied by an error code.
How to check your odometer
Press and hold the power button for 2–3 seconds to turn on the bike. Look at the odometer reading on the LED screen to see the total distance your OTG Elite has traveled.
If the warning icon appears and an E0–E9 error code replaces the odometer reading, stop riding immediately and contact the Jetson Care Team before riding again.
Understanding the speed settings
The OTG Elite has three selectable electric speed modes. Use the minus (-) and plus (+) buttons on the handlebar controls to select your preferred speed mode.
- Mode 1: Maximum speed of 9.4 mph
- Mode 2: Maximum speed of 15.5 mph
- Mode 3: Maximum speed of 20 mph
To check your current speed setting, power on the bike and look at the selected mode on the LED screen. Press the plus (+) button to select a faster mode or the minus (-) button to select a slower mode.
If the bike is traveling slower than expected, check the selected speed mode before continuing your ride.
The documented controls allow you to select between three speed modes. A beep alone does not confirm whether a separate speed limiter is locked or unlocked.
Using the lights, bell, and cargo rack
Headlight and turn signals
Quickly press the lighting button to turn the headlight on or off. Move the turn signal switch left or right to activate the corresponding signal. Return the switch to its center position to turn the signals off.
Bell
Quickly flick the bell tab downward with your left thumb to alert other riders and pedestrians.
RackIt Smart Cargo System
The rear rack can carry cargo secured with the included bungee strap. Place the cargo on the rack, hook one end of the strap into a bungee attachment loop, stretch the strap snugly over the cargo, and secure the other hook in the opposite loop.
Before riding, confirm that the cargo is secure and does not interfere with the wheels, brakes, pedals, chain, or other moving parts.
The rear rack has a 25 lb cargo limit. The combined rider and cargo weight must remain within the bike's 220 lb total weight limit.
Powering off and storing the e-bike
Press and hold the power button for 2–3 seconds to turn off the e-bike. Always power it off before walking with it or preparing it for storage. The bike also powers off automatically after 10 minutes without movement.
To fold the handlebar, push and hold the tab on the folding latch upward, pull the latch open, and gently lower the handlebar toward the side opposite the latch.
The pedals can also be folded for compact storage. Use the release bar inside each pedal to fold it upward. Before riding again, pull the release bar toward the pedal tip and pivot the pedal downward until it snaps securely into place.
Store the bike indoors in a clean, dry location, away from rain, excessive moisture, and prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
Before riding again, confirm that the handlebar folding latch is securely closed and both pedals are fully unfolded and locked into position.
Quick troubleshooting
If you hear a beep and want to know whether the speed limiter is locked or unlocked: Check the selected speed mode on the LED screen. Use the minus (-) and plus (+) buttons to select between the three available maximum speeds: 9.4 mph, 15.5 mph, and 20 mph. The documented instructions do not identify a beep as confirmation of a separate speed-limiter lock or unlock status.
If the LED screen displays a warning icon and an E0–E9 error code: Stop riding immediately and contact the Jetson Care Team before using the bike again.
If the bike does not power on: Press and hold the power button for 2–3 seconds. If the bike still does not power on, recharge the battery completely before trying again.
If the bike powers off while not being used: The OTG Elite automatically powers off after 10 minutes without movement. Press and hold the power button for 2–3 seconds to turn it back on.
If speed or riding range is lower than expected: Check the selected speed mode and battery level. Speed may decrease when the battery charge falls below 25%. Confirm both tires are inflated to 40 PSI. Hills, rough surfaces, frequent stops, and additional weight can also affect performance.
If the battery does not appear to charge: Confirm that the charger and charging cable are securely connected and that the charger is compatible with the OTG Elite. The charging indicator should illuminate red while charging and green when charging is complete. Do not use damaged charging equipment.
If the seat slips downward: Open the seat-clamp latch, reposition the seat with its minimum-insertion mark below the clamp, and tighten the clamp knob clockwise. Close the latch and confirm the seat stays in place when downward pressure is applied.
If the handlebar folding latch is not secure: Do not ride. Raise the handlebar into its upright position and push the latch closed until it clicks. Confirm that it cannot be pulled open before riding.
If a pedal will not unfold or lock into place: Stop and inspect the pedal's release bar. Pull the release bar toward the pedal tip and pivot the pedal downward until it snaps into position. Do not ride unless both pedals are securely unfolded.
