Need to find your Jetson's SKU or serial number? You've come to the right place! These two identifiers help us figure out exactly which Jetson you have, whether you're registering your ride, checking warranty coverage, looking for replacement parts, or reaching out to the Jetson Care Team for support. Here's how to tell them apart and where to find them.
What's the difference?
Although both help identify your Jetson, they serve different purposes.
SKU (Stock Keeping Unit)
A SKU (pronounced "skew") is your product's model identifier. It helps distinguish different Jetson products and variations, including colors, designs, and remanufactured versions.
Your SKU is especially helpful when:
- Contacting the Jetson Care Team for product support.
- Checking compatibility of replacement parts and accessories.
- Reviewing your product's warranty coverage.
Serial Number (SN)
Your serial number is unique to your individual Jetson. Think of it like a fingerprint: Even if two riders have the same model and color, each product has its own serial number.
You'll need your serial number to register your product or file a warranty claim. It's also helpful to have it ready whenever you contact Jetson Care so our team can provide more targeted assistance and troubleshooting.
What to look for
You'll come across plenty of numbers and codes on your Jetson and its packaging. Here's how to recognize the ones you need.
Identifying your SKU
- Starting letters: Most Jetson SKUs begin with the letter "J". Exceptions include spare parts, which begin with "P", Amber Light-Up Strips, which begin with "A", and Triple Eight helmets and pads, which begin with a number or the letters "WP".
- Format: Most SKUs contain two groups of letters and numbers separated by a hyphen, such as JXYZ-ABC, JLMNOP-DEFG, or J15-QRST.
- Additional characters: Some SKUs have three sections, such as JXYZ1-ABCD-RA, JXYZ1-ABCD-OB, or JXYZ1-ABCD-BB. Products purchased outside the U.S. may also include a middle section, such as JXYZ1-CA-ABCD, JXYZ1-CAN-ABCD, JXYZ1-MX-ABCD, or JXYZ1-OS-ABCD.
- Label: Look for the word "SKU" or sometimes "model" before the identifier. For example: SKU: JDEF-XYZ.
Identifying your serial number
- Jetson serial numbers are usually 17 characters long and contain both letters and numbers.
- An example of a serial number is 60000ABC000012345.
- Serial numbers are typically printed on black-and-white stickers attached directly to the product. On some bike models, the number may be engraved into the frame.
Where to find your SKU and Serial Number
The location of your SKU and serial number depends on which Jetson you own. In many cases, both identifiers can be found in similar areas of the product.
Start by checking the following locations:
- Kick scooters and e-scooters: Check the side or underside of the deck, where you place your feet.
- Hoverboards: Carefully turn your hoverboard upside down. Look for the SKU label on the underside and the serial-number sticker near one of the wheels.
- JetKarts: Check the underside for the SKU label. For the serial number, look underneath the seat frame.
-
Adult bikes and e-bikes:
Depending on the model, check
these three areas:
- The stem of the bike frame below the handlebar.
- The frame near where the seat is attached.
- The lower frame between the pedal area and the front tire.
- Kids' bikes: Check the bike frame between the seat and the pedals.
- Kids' ride-ons: Check the underside of the product or the bottom of the seat. Depending on the model, the SKU label may also be attached to the frame.
- Parts and accessories: Some items, such as chargers, have SKU labels attached directly to them. Others may not have enough space for a label. If you cannot locate the SKU, try checking the packaging or product listing online.
Check the entire label carefully. Depending on your Jetson model, the SKU and serial number may appear in different areas or on separate labels.
Other ways to find your SKU
If the SKU label on your Jetson is missing, damaged, or difficult to read, don't worry. There are two other places you can check.
Check the original packaging
If you still have the box your Jetson came in, take a closer look at the product information printed on it. The SKU is usually listed somewhere on the packaging, sometimes in smaller print.
Check RideJetson.com
- Visit the Jetson website. Go to RideJetson.com.
- Find your product. Browse the product categories or use the website's search function to look up your Jetson model, such as "Mojo Hoverboard" or "Bolt Pro".
- Open the product page. Look for the SKU near the top of the product listing.
- Select the correct variation. If the product is available in multiple colors, select the color you own to make sure you're viewing the matching SKU.
For example, the Axle Electric Bike product page identifies the model using the SKU JAXL12-BLK.
Why your SKU may be different
Two Jetson products can look almost identical but still have different SKUs. That's because the SKU identifies a specific product variation.
Here are some common reasons why SKUs may differ:
- Color: A black Mojo Hoverboard has the SKU JMOJO-BLK, while the gold version has the SKU JMOJO-GLD.
- Branding or design: Products with the same shape and functionality may have different SKUs because of their appearance. For example, Disney Princess kick scooters with different character designs have their own identifiers.
- Release type: A Jetson-certified remanufactured product receives a different SKU to distinguish it from a brand-new version. For example, a new Adventure Electric Bike has the SKU JADV11-BLK, while its remanufactured version has the SKU JADV11-BLK-RA.
If you own multiple Jetson products, check the SKU and serial number on each one individually. Similar-looking products may have different SKUs, and every product has its own unique serial number.
