Welcome, and congratulations on your new Aria 2-in-1 Light-Up Kick Scooter. This guide walks you through installing the stem, adding the batteries, adjusting the handlebar, switching between seated and standing modes, using the lights, and taking the first ride.
Things you need to know
Preparation
- Read the full user manual and all safety warnings before the first ride.
- Adult assembly and adult supervision are required.
- Confirm the rider is 2–4 years old and weighs no more than 66 lb.
- Have the rider wear an ASTM F1492-approved helmet, protective gear, and closed-toe, flat shoes.
- Choose a smooth, flat riding area away from motor vehicles, water, sand, gravel, dirt, leaves, steep inclines, steps, swimming pools, and other hazards.
What comes in the box
- Aria 2-in-1 Light-Up Kick Scooter
- Stem with fold-away seat
- 2-bit tool with Phillips-head screwdriver and 5 mm Allen key
Tools and materials required
- Included 2-bit tool
- 3 AA batteries, not included
Step-by-step setup
-
Remove the packaging and identify the scooter’s front and back. Remove all protective packaging. When installing the stem, the seat must face the back of the scooter base.
Safety: Keep small parts away from children during assembly. An adult must assemble the scooter. - Install the stem and seat assembly. Position the bottom of the stem over the stem-mount opening with the seat facing the back of the scooter. Slide the stem down into the mount until the stem tab clicks into place underneath the opening. Pull gently on the stem to confirm it is secure.
-
Install the batteries. On the underside of the deck, use the Phillips-head screwdriver end of the included tool to turn the battery-cover screw counterclockwise. Remove the cover and insert 3 AA batteries according to the positive and negative markings inside the compartment. Replace the cover, align the screw with its hole, tighten it clockwise, and confirm the cover is secure.
Warning: Do not mix old and new batteries or mix alkaline, standard carbon-zinc, and rechargeable batteries. -
Adjust the handlebar height. Open the stem-clamp latch. Use the 5 mm Allen key end of the included tool to loosen the bolt opposite the latch by turning it counterclockwise. Press in the stem-height adjustment pin and raise or lower the handlebar until the pin clicks into another height hole. Close the latch, tighten the bolt clockwise, and check that the handlebar is secure.
Important: The adjustment pin alone will not keep the stem secure. The clamp must be tightened and closed before every ride. - Select seated or standing mode. For seated riding, pull the back of the seat down toward the rear wheel until it clicks into position above the deck. For standing riding, lift the back of the seat toward the handlebar until it clicks into the folded position.
- Complete the pre-ride checks. Confirm the stem, handlebar clamp, seat, wheels, rear foot brake, guards, covers, and fasteners are secure and in serviceable condition. Check that the riding area is safe and that the rider is wearing a properly positioned helmet and protective gear.
-
Practice riding while seated. With the seat unfolded, have the rider push both feet against the ground to move forward. To slow down or stop, plant both feet on the ground.
Warning: Never use the rear foot brake while riding seated. Use both feet on the ground to slow down or stop. - Practice riding while standing. Fold the seat up. Have the rider place one foot on the front of the deck facing forward and push off the ground with the other foot. To coast, place the pushing foot on the rear of the deck at a slight outward angle. Press the rear foot brake gently to slow down and apply more pressure to stop.
-
Practice turning. The Aria is a lean-to-steer scooter. Have the rider lean slightly left or right to guide the scooter in that direction.
Helpful tip: Begin with small, gentle leans in a wide, open space while the rider becomes comfortable with steering.
Using the lights and storing the scooter
The Aria 2-in-1 Light-Up Kick Scooter has light-up wheels plus battery-powered deck and seat lights:
- Turn on the deck and seat lights: Quick-press the lighting button.
- Change the lighting pattern: Quick-press the button again to cycle through 11 patterns.
- Turn off the deck and seat lights: Press and hold the lighting button for 3 seconds. The lights also turn off after 5 minutes without use.
- Use the wheel lights: The wheel lights activate automatically when the wheels rotate and do not use the AA batteries.
- Remove the stem for storage: Press and hold the stem-release button, then pull the stem up and out of the stem mount. To reinstall it, follow the stem-installation step above.
Quick troubleshooting
If the handlebar clamp will not open or close: Use the included 5 mm Allen key to loosen the clamp bolt counterclockwise one-half rotation at a time until the latch operates, then secure the clamp and recheck the handlebar.
If the deck or seat lights do not turn on: Check that 3 AA batteries are installed according to the positive and negative markings, the battery cover is secure, and the lighting button is quick-pressed.
If the wheel lights do not turn on: Roll the scooter so the wheels rotate. These lights are motion-activated and operate separately from the deck and seat lights.
If the stem feels loose: Stop using the scooter. Reinsert the stem until its tab clicks into place, secure the handlebar clamp, and confirm the stem and handlebar do not shift before riding.
