Adding additional warranty protection is a smart move.
All new Jetson products come with a warranty that covers any defects and malfunctions that might arise unexpectedly when your product is used properly and in accordance with its user manual. (No additional purchase is required; it's included!) Dependent on the product, that warranty coverage will be anywhere from 90 days to 1 year from the date of purchase, and approved claims during that period will be met with a free replacement.
Once you get hooked on riding your Jetson, though, you'll realize that your adventuring is going to continue far beyond that time frame—so it's a good idea to be proactive and purchase additional protection right up front.
Additional protection, to extend that time frame and include coverage of accidental damage, is offered through the Extend Protection Plan offered by our partner, Extend. It's easy to to secure it: The Extend Protection Plan can be purchased on RideJetson.com at the same time you purchase your product.
What you'll get
Like our included manufacturer's warranty, enhanced warranty protection via the Extend Protection Plans begins right away. You can purchase coverage for 1, 2, or 3 years.
What's included depends on the Jetson product that you're purchasing and the length of Extend Protection Plan coverage that you choose.
1. For all products and plans: Accidental Protection
Buying any Extend Protection Plan—for any length of time, and for any Jetson—gives you Accidental Protection for the duration of the plan. That means you'll be covered against "uh-ohs"—things like damage from drops or impact, plus rips, stains, and the like. Should an "uh-oh" happen, approved claims result in repair, a replacement part, or a replacement product.
Note: Accidental Protection was incorporated into Extend's coverage beginning May 2023; Enhanced warranty packages purchased for Jetson products prior to May 2023 do not include Accidental Protection.
2. For some products and plans: Extended Protection, too.
Our included warranty coverage—against defects and malfunctions related only to manufacturing—ranges in duration from 90 days to 1 year, depending on the product. The length of coverage for a product can be found in our warranty policy. (Help navigating it can also be found in this Help Center article.)
For Jetson products that come with manufacturer's warranties of 1 year or less, any of the Extend Protection Plan durations available—1, 2, or 3 years—will also extend your warranty by some amount. For example, if you purchase a product that comes with a 6-months manufacturer's warranty and add on a 1-year Extend Protection Plan for it, you are not only enhancing your product protection with 1 full year of Accidental Protection (against drops, rips, etc.)—but also getting an extra 6 months of protection against malfunction and defect after our included warranty expires. You'll extend that coverage even more if you purchase the 2- or 3-year Extend Protection Plan.
On the other hand, if you are purchasing one of our products that we already comes with a 1-year manufacturer's warranty, the 1-year Extend Protection Plan will just add Accidental Protection during that 1 year. (Because the plan and our included coverage begin at the same time, and run concurrently.) In order to extend coverage against manufacturing-related defects or malfunction beyond that year, you will have to purchase a 2- or 3-year Extend Protection Plan.
Filing and processing claims
If you have NOT purchased an Extend Protection Plan and a product defect or malfunction related to manufacturing arises: All claims during the duration of your included manufacturer's warranty must be processed directly with us. Should all warranty conditions be met, you will receive a replacement or equivalent replacement product. A reminder: Accidental damage is not covered by our included warranty.
If you have purchased an Extend Protection Plan and a product defect or malfunction related to manufacturing arises: If our included manufacturer's warranty period is still in effect, reach out directly to us. Should all warranty conditions be met, you will receive a replacement part or replacement product, depending on claim details.
If our included manufacturer's warranty period has expired, but your Extend Protection Plan is still active, file claims directly through Extend. Approved claims will result in the delivery of a gift card that can be used to purchase a replacement on RideJetson.com.
If you have purchased an Extend Protection Plan and would like to process an Accidental Protection claim at any point while the plan is still in effect: All "uh-oh"-type accidental protection claims should always be filed directly through Extend. Approved claims result in the delivery of a gift card that can be used to purchase a replacement on RideJetson.com.
Things to note
- You’ll have to decide up front how many years of coverage you want to lock in. Once you purchase an Extend Protection Plan for your product, it can’t be renewed or extended again.
- Remanufactured products are not eligible for the Extend Protection Plan.
- Parts and accessories are not eligible for the Extend Protection Plan.
- Triple Eight products, such as helmets and pads, that are sold on RideJetson.com are not available for the Extend Protection Plan.
- Extend Protection Plans can be canceled within 30 days of purchase.
- Extend Protection Plans are not transferrable, either to other Jetson products OR to any replacement product you might receive through an approved warranty claim.
